Vistorta – Conte Brandolini

For over six centuries, the Brandolini family has called Vistorta home. This historical village, nestled in Italy’s northeastern region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, is far more than a location; it is the living heart of their legacy, a place where every stone and every vine tells a story of enduring dedication.

The family’s deep commitment to the land began to take its modern shape in 1872 when Count Guido Brandolini created the “Azienda Agricola” with a long-term vision of modernity, he was one of the first in the region to plant Merlot, a choice that cemented the family’s place as a pioneering force in Friuli’s viticultural history.

A new and vibrant chapter began in the 1960s, when Counts Brando and Cristiana Brandolini d’Adda chose to live at Vistorta, breathing new life into the historic estate. Their passion for their home led them to a meticulous and heartfelt restoration of the villa and its grounds. This work was not just about preservation, but about a deep love for the land and a vision of what it could be. This vision was passed down to their son, Brandino Brandolini, who in 1979 took the reins of the winery and began winemaking with a new goal, creating a great red wine. With this dream, Vistorta Merlot and Brando Merlot were born. The winery is also recognized for its continued experimentation with their wines, currently focusing on experimenting with white wines and accomplishing unique expressions of iconic wines.
